Fall Into the Holidays - A Thanksgiving Santa

I really wanted to give this santa a warm and inviting look for the holidays. He's suitable for year round display, with his plaid coat and handsome looks. He's perfect for a cabin in the woods, or palatial log home, or even a Northwoods cottage. You can find this handsome Santa at MothersDreamRtworks

PFATT Ornament Swap Treasures

My treasure trove of ornament goodies because I chose to be the Pfatt ornament swap queen this year. Oh! My! Goodness! Such talent we have in this group!
We had eight ladies participate, so they sent their hand crafted ornaments to me, and I got to sort and send them new ornaments from each other. What fun this was! Stephanie Grimmond sent me this swap queen ornament, which is just adorable!
Here's little houses she made, which I just had to have one for myself.
Sylvia Smiser created this darling angel, complete with silvery wings and halo. I didn't want to unwrap until next year so she would stay safe.
Rose Gilpin sent me an extra snowman, just for me! How sweet he is!
Rebecca Campbell Miller created this darling snowbaby, and again, I will unwrap next year, but we were late getting all the ornaments gathered, so next year we all start with new ornies for our trees.
Becky Federico hand sculpted this sassy cat ornament. I'm pleased to say I own one of her pieces now as well. I have to say that picking out 4 for me was soooooo hard as there were so many delightful pieces to choose from. I hope to be able to do this again next year. I'm thinking I need a separate tree just for my PFATT ornaments.

Snow, Snow, Snow! PFATT Marketplace Offerings for November

I am hearing Bing Crosby and friends singing, "Snow, snow, snow, snow snow!", from the movie White Christmas as I type. Funny how memories are triggered as we go throughout the day. We definitely got a nice sugar coating of snow yesterday, which adds to the Christmasy mood and feel of things.
I'm not a fan of putting up Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but hey, when selling Christmas creations you have to start early. Okay, I'm a bit behind this year, but family comes first. Now that we are back from roaming the countryside it's time to gear up for the holidays. My two handsome snowmen are bottle gourds with hand sculpted features. See more about them at the PFATT Marketplace.

PFATT Marketplace Offerings A Sweet Snow Angel and Santa

This sweet snow angel was created to bring a little light and cheer. Her head was hand sculpted and painted, and then she was mounted in a vintage glass light shade. She has been gussied up with pearly bead garland and fluffy feather boa with tinsel. She stands on a wood base that has been gussied up as well. You can lift her up to turn on a little tea light that is included.
This handsome santa was completely hand sculpted from polymer clay. He has loads of charm and has also been hand painted. See them both at:  PFATT Marketplace

Philgrimm, Thanksgiving Pilgrim Pumpkin Man, My First Finished Polymer Clay Piece

Oh boy, a new art doll adventure and a fun one for sure. I have never really taken a good look at polymer clay, as I didn't like the baking process, but I was given some tips by some folks I met at Hallowbaloo, and found out it isn't as bad as I thought. So, I wanted to create something for Thanksgiving as I feel it's a much forgotten holiday, but one that is so important because its a time of celebrating harvest, family and our blessings from God. I hope to make some more, but am waiting on an oven here in Utah. This handsome fella is available at:    MothersDreamRtworks

Americana Santa on PFATT

Not a lot of creative writing to be found in my scrambled brain right now as I am just wrapping up my final year teaching art and trying to sort out my comings and goings this year. I will have so much more freedom to be here and there so I'm looking forward to that. My daughter and I will finally get some good time together, and our home is going to get the finishing touches so we can move in next year, yay! So here's the skinny on my newest piece, no fuss, no fancy smancy language.

Using a beehive textile bobbin, some clay and lots of creativity I pulled this Santa together. He has moveable arms that are attached with wire, and vintage buttons to spiff up his coat.
This Santa stands on a wooden star base, and carries a pipe cleaner wreath and bottle brush tree.
As always, he is a one of a kind original that comes signed and dated. Find him at the PFATT Marketplace. Thank you for stopping by!

Whew! Catching Up On Santa Business!

First off I would like to say I love Apple care! They figured out the issue with my slower than a snail internet and it's humming like I've never seen it. The poor Verizon fellas got a good work out as we tried various ways to get me on line, but it all had to do with a couple of folders on my new mac that really weren't necessary and mucked up things.
So I'm a happy camper as I'm back on line and can share my new creations, as well as say hi.
The top two Santa pieces are in my MothersDreamRtworks etsy shop,  and the bottom fella is on EBAY
I hope you are ready for the holidays, and all is well.

Primitive Victorian Driftwood Santa #1 2013

I've had this piece of driftwood from Alaska for years. I had originally hand painted him with simple details, but he was whispering in his good Father Christmas voice that he wanted a bit more. So I got out the clay and added features, along with a homespun sash and wreath. You can find him on ebay now. Mother's Dream Artworks

Blue Or Brown, What color are Santa's eyes? A Victorian Santa...

When I sit down to create a Santa I run into what color to paint his eyes sometimes. So I ask, what color are Santa's eyes? Does it really matter?
I painted Santa's eyes blue this time, but who knows, the next one may have brown....

We Three Santas......

As cool as it has been today you would think that we were headed for winter again, instead of just getting ready to hit summer. It's been raining buckets, which put the kibosh on our fishing plans, so I'm painting my bathroom and finishing up Santa pieces. This Santa is made from a banana gourd, and comes bearing gifts.
A simply primitive Santa here, made from Wallowa Lake driftwood. What's so special about Wallowa Lake? Check this out or look up Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce for more photos of a little slice of heaven here on earth.
Another banana gourd Santa, simply sweet and ready for a new home.

Well I need to go shower and get some in town chores done and then it's back to painting my bathroom. I hope the rain takes a break so I can go cover my garden boxes and get my tomatoes ready for tonight. It's promising to be pretty chilly and they are in need of covering as well.

Gourdinia the Witchy Gourd Frog on PFATT Marketplace

My gourds speak to me.... No really! Sometimes they do! Every time I looked at her gourd self I heard, "Help! I'm trapped inside this gourd and I WANT OUT!" So by magic and a lot of listening to that little voice inside the gourd, she was able to break out of her shell and show the world her most kissable face. Now I can't promise that she will turn into a lovely princess once kissed, but she sure gets a lot of attention when she's on display. Have a look see at : PFATT Marketplace

Hungry Jack O' Lantern is done!

Hungry Jack O' Lantern is so ready to hang out with someone. He's an impressively large Jack, and fun to boot!
I haven't decided yet where to debut him. I will keep you posted. If you are interested, send me a note.
