Another Reason to Fall Into the Holidays

Autumn lives in our community right now.
Golden carpets soften once verdant lawns,
sidewalks yield to crispy piles of leaves.
The mountains streaked with stripes of yellow and rust,
among forest pinacles....
stand in contrast to the pastel skies above.

Another Santa awaits a new home, perfect for decorating throughout the rest of the year.
Why not learn more about him at MothersDreamRtworks

FALL INTO THE HOLIDAYS

GORDY GOURD PUMPKIN ORNAMENT
A bit of clay and a lot of magic went into creating Gordy. Warts and all, he's a loveable guy,
ready to hang out on your Halloween tree with the rest of the spooks. Find him here MothersDreamRtWorks
One of my favorite Santas to create, Victorian Dreams Santa did a bit of traveling, including a stint at the Utah State Fair, when I was demonstrating my sculpting skills for the Creative Arts Exhibit. I love his textured coat, and he certainly has a winsome smile. A Santa to melt the hearts of all who see him. He's also available here MothersDreamRtWorks

There's more to come in my etsy shop, as well as a possible piece or two on ebay. So lets FALL INTO THE HOLIDAYS TOGETHER!

He has waited for a couple of years to be finished. Sometimes, it's a matter of patience.

Primitive Victorian Driftwood Santa #1 2013

I've had this piece of driftwood from Alaska for years. I had originally hand painted him with simple details, but he was whispering in his good Father Christmas voice that he wanted a bit more. So I got out the clay and added features, along with a homespun sash and wreath. You can find him on ebay now. Mother's Dream Artworks

Blue Or Brown, What color are Santa's eyes? A Victorian Santa...

When I sit down to create a Santa I run into what color to paint his eyes sometimes. So I ask, what color are Santa's eyes? Does it really matter?
I painted Santa's eyes blue this time, but who knows, the next one may have brown....

We 3 Santas of Alpenfest are bound....

This weekend is Alpenfest here in Wallowa County, with all the fun that goes along, such as polka dancing, yodeling, Bavarian style foods and lots of vendors.
Of course there must be Santas to round out the selection of goodies to be had, so I've been working like crazy to finish a few more pieces for the festivities.
I've already talked to a few folks who haven't seen what I do yet, and they happen to collect Santa figures so I'm hoping they stop by.
These are just a few of the offerings I will have. Two gourd Santas and a tiny vanilla bottle Santa along with a handful of driftwood Santa pieces to be finished. I'm starting to catch a bug, but I'm fighting it, so let's hope I can beat it in order to enjoy all the fun. Hope to see you there!

Happy Monday! Okay, it is for me at least.....

Oh the joy of listing an item on ebay and having it sell right away! Printed on very high quality heavy duty gloss finish paper, with very high quality ink, this is the last of the series I had printed from the original painting I did. I only have one of the prints left of the above painting so head on over fast to snag this! Prim Pumpkin Pear Print
A sweet and woodsy gourd Santa, hand sculpted and painted with layers of paints, this little fella is also available here: Northwoods Dreaming Santa
So I'm having a good Monday, mailed off a few pieces that sold last week and today, and this little guy will go to some lucky home so we are starting off the week right. How's your week going?

A Santa a week....

A Santa a week keeps the blues away..... Well okay maybe that's a stretch, but you know, you can't have too many Santa figures in your collection can you? I think not! So, I'm on a mission to list a new Santa each week to entice you to add to that collection of handsome and jolly fellows. This gourd Santa is 13 inches tall and I've signed and dated him. True confession, I have a sweet buyer who has been so patient with me, and she knows who I'm talking about.... Somehow I let two pieces she's purchased get out the door without a signature on them, ugh! I will make it up to her though as she hasn't put up a fuss and deserves better. I promise this fella is signed though as I made sure before I listed him....lol.

So, if you are interested this handsome gentleman is listed here: ETSY

I was walking on the beach one day....

I was walking on the beach one day, and much to my surprise...
a piece of driftwood called to me, and looked me in the eye!
I saw a familiar face on it, and picked it up to see....
if that was really Santa, looking back at me.
As you can see he surely was, so home to work we went..
So you see that he's become that friendly jolly gent!

Primitive Vintage Victorian Style Folk Art Driftwood Santa

I have a confession to make. I'm one of those folks who find it very annoying to see Christmas decor up in stores before we've celebrated Thanksgiving. I know, I know, sounds contradictory doesn't it? Lol. Yes, in some ways it is, but I so love the colors and feel of Autumn and harvest time, that I want to savor it as much as possible. My heart swells at the sight of freshly harvested fields, pumpkins stacked on porches, warm apple cider steaming in mugs.
Sure, I have been creating Christmas art for months now, but due to the nature of the buying public, and the need to be ahead of the game, I must do what I do. So being the accommodating person that I am, I will be offering a multitude of Santa pieces on ebay as well as etsy and Reasons to Believe . As a matter of fact, all three places have some of my newest creations available. So take a moment if you would, grab a cup of your favorite warm beverage and wander off to take a peek at my newest offerings. The hand carved Santa above is at my etsy shop now, and you can see him here
