A Mother's Love - Stepping Outside my comfort zone

I've had the photograph this was done from for a long time. I'm trying to step outside of what I normally do and use different brush strokes and so on and this is what the end result was. I plan on doing at least one painting a week until the art show, and then will make a decision on which pieces will be submitted. This is an acrylic on a 9 x 12 inch gallery wrap canvas. The painting does wrap around the sides. Let me know what you think!

My humble opinion: Bright and refreshing with great contrast! Has "Spring" written all over. Looks like you really enjoyed this one too! :-) Lind

Thanks Linda! Your opinion is valued as you are a talented artist as well. Folks should run on over and see what you do!
Yes, I enjoyed doing this, but it was scary as well. I'm trying to learn to loosen up.
Hugs,
Sheryl

Hi Sheryl,
I think it looks great! I love the new brushstrokes. The baby's face is wonderful. What art show are you entering?

Catherine, we have an art show here in Oregon, the Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts. It's juried, with artists from all over entering. Here's the link:http://www.wallowavalleyarts.org/

Wonderful! Love the brush strokes - they give the piece a lot of movement. Great work!
