Spring Greenery
It has been an exceptionally blustery and snowy winter here in the NE corner of Oregon. The old timers all say that this is what winters used to be like, and I take my hat off to them as they are still here. Not that I'm complaining, I rather like deep piles of snow, and even enjoy shoveling the driveway on occasion. This year though, we've sustained roof damage due to ice build up. We've learned some thing about being better prepared, and except for getting that all wheel drive vehicle, we should be ready for whatever mother nature throws at us next year. Nature Guy has already informed me that we probably won't ever see a winter like this again, especially if we get a more suitable car, but we shall see.
So the point of all that is that I see a lot of people counting the days until spring in their Facebook posts. In the spirit of that, and the Pantone color of the year, which is spring greenery, I created a mixed media art piece full of brightness and spring green. We've had our share of winter storms blow through so I wasn't able to get photos that quite do the piece justice, but I hope you can see the potential to brighten up your home. This piece is available now.

Apples and Sunflowers
Two of my favorite things to grow, sunflowers and apples, have appeared in my etsy shop. Pomme is a painting I did back in 2010. Acrylics and textured mixed media fun.
Sunflower Autumn is a soft and lovely abstract that will fill a small space nicely. Framed and ready to hang, this is easy Autumn decorating at it's best. To see more details on these paintings stop by my etsy shop. Thanks for stopping by! MothersDreamRtworks

Humpty Dumpty's PFATT Marketplace Debut Today... oh and the chicken as well...
On Humpty Dumpty I did some research, and it seems that no one really knows just how old he is! So I've decided to have a party for him as he is waaaay past due. He truly is excited as you can see, and hopes that you will throw him a party as well. Don't let the party start without him!
As for the little red hen up there, she comes with a hand painted barn wood frame and is ready to hang. For more information on both of these pieces stop by the PFATT MARKETPLACE this morning at 11AM mountain time.

Utah State Fair Here I Come!! WIP Done
It's always a great feeling when you can pull a piece out of trouble and then finish it. I changed the lettering on this painting with my husband's help as a consultant. We discussed several font options using photoshop to do mock ups. What a great way to use Photoshop! Then I had to try my hand at painting the lettering we chose. After some prayer and several deep breaths..lol, I tackled the lettering where I surprised even myself! So I will sign and seal this painting, then it is ready to go.
My dilemma now is to decide which sculpted piece I will enter in the creative arts competition of the fair. My husband's first choice is this Santa
I wonder though if this one might be better?
What do you think? I will probably go with the Santa, but I would love some feedback on this! Thanks in advance! Trying something new here. Still need to work out the sound quality as in trying to not sound like I'm sitting in a can. Let me know what you think. As for these delightful little paintings, they are being sold as a set on ebay right now so go over to my ebay link and let the bidding begin! :-)

Fresh Fruit is done!
Finally! It sure feels good to get a painting done for a change. Need to do this more often. I created two of these, though the lettering is different and the colors a bit different as I was playing around with color and style. I gave the other one to my stepmom for Christmas or a birthday, gosh I can't remember now. Anyway, this one has been sitting in a box waiting to get done. This is done on a 9" x 12" gallery wrap canvas so the sides are painted and it comes ready to hang. I'm putting this one up on my website at www.mothersdreamartworks.com. It can be yours for $145.
