Fall Into the Holidays With Mother's Dream Artworks 2018

From adorable stacked pumpkin Jacks created to tickle your funny bone...
to sweet, sparkly snowmen on repurposed candlesticks and salt shakers,
and a happy pumpkin waiting for tasty Thanksgiving delights....
to a handsome Victorian style gourd Santa, MotherDreamRtworks shop on Etsy is
brimming with one of a kind holiday creations, hand sculpted and painted with love.
I'm busily working in my studio to add more Christmas pieces, some using Super Sculpey
polymer clay; which is fast becoming my favorite medium for sculpting detail and texture.
I love the way acrylic paints adhere to the clay in a semi transparent way, and yet allow
for layering. I can achieve a nice vintage feel if I apply the paints carefully.
There are driftwood Santas and snowmen on the way, more gourd pieces, and
a few spiced up vintage shakers and tins turned holiday angels, pixies and tomptens.

Please Fall into the Holidays with me this year, as we give thanks for our many blessings,
and spend time with those we love, celebrating the most wonderful time of the year.

Halloween Bash in my Etsy Shop

Dubbed Rodney by some of my artist friends, this big guy stands about 20" tall and is a real dried gourd.
Hand sculpted from Super Sculpey, this handsome JOL or waiting for his turkey Pumpkin is a nice 7" tall.
Evil Jack is what Nature guy calls this fellow, but he's really just a tad grumpy. You'll find these three fellows and more in my Etsy shop by clicking on MothersDreamRtworks

All In A Day's Work for Hallowbaloo and All Hallow's Art Fest

I'm starting to get in the groove for Halloween shows now, and am having more fun than a person has a right to! Above is a raven done in acrylics on an 8 x 10 gallery wrap canvas.
Here's a whimsical night time man in the moon scene, with jack o' lanterns on three sides, shining in the light of the moon.

For  those who live in the Seattle area you can join us for Hallowbaloo September 15, 2018. Click here for more information: HALLOWBALOO

If you live in California, Petaluma has a wonderful Halloween show, that's been the standard other shows are modeled after, All Hallow's Art Fest. For more information click here: ALL HALLOW'S ART FEST

Hope to see you at one of these shows!

PFATT Marketplace Is Brimming with Love and Springtime

I shot right past Valentines Day this year and into spring because it's been a rather warm and even somewhat greening winter. Okay, maybe greening isn't a real word, hmmm or is it? Regardless,  I was in the mood for some different adventures in creativity.
I love re-purposing vintage finds, such as the Chickidoo's basket, which is a vintage jello mold, all gussied up with paint and tiny pink pom trim. Shaker Bunny is just that, a vintage milk glass salt shaker, with hand sculpted bunny head, scalloped trims, tinsel garland and flocked blossoms. For more information come on over to the PFATT Marketplace.

Primitive Folk Art Americana Santa

My grandchildren like stuff, all sorts of stuff, including things to flavor their water. When they were here a couple of  summers ago their mom bought them a drink flavoring in a tiny bottle that just spoke Santa to me. I know, I'm rather weird like that. So out came the clay, and within an hour or two of sculpting, the Santa came to be. He's available at ETSY
