We 3 Santas of Alpenfest are bound....

 This weekend is Alpenfest here in Wallowa County, with all the fun that goes along, such as polka dancing, yodeling, Bavarian style foods and lots of vendors.

 Of course there must be Santas to round out the selection of goodies to be had, so I've been working like crazy to finish a few more pieces for the festivities.

 I've already talked to a few folks who haven't seen what I do yet, and they happen to collect Santa figures so I'm hoping they stop by.

These are just a few of the offerings I will have. Two gourd Santas and a tiny vanilla bottle Santa along with a handful of driftwood Santa pieces to be finished. I'm starting to catch a bug, but I'm fighting it, so let's hope I can beat it in order to enjoy all the fun. Hope to see you there!

 August has arrived with an outlook for back to school and fun holiday times just around the corner. Soooo, I pulled out my gourd collection, which is growing by leaps and bounds, and found this lovely lady just waiting to be brought to life. A gourdeous pumpkin witch isn't she?

More Creations for Chief Joseph Days

 I have managed to squeeze more jewelry making while trying to spend quality time with Nature Guy. We have gone fishing, got skunked, rats! Took a ride up towards the Hells Canyon Lookout and had a picnic, then collected flat rocks for paving some areas around the deck and garden boxes, yay! Now I'm ready to rock and roll as Nature Guy is on the road to visit his sons.
The bracelet above is created on memory wire using ceramic turquoise beads, red stone beads and bright shiny silver beads. All my pieces are one of a kind.

 Another fun and funky, chunky necklace for rodeo queens or any chic and fashionable lady who loves turquoise colors and silver.

 To mix things up a bit I will have some home decor products such as these re-purposed china dishes that are now suitable for vintage style soap pedestal dishes, or jewelry caches.

One of the best things about being in Wallowa County in the summer is a possibility to find fun vintage pieces that can be re-purposed and useful. I will share more of my fun finds soon so stop by again when you can. It's time to head to the studio to sculpt so here's to a good day for all!

Light The Tree Santa - Upcycled Folk Art

Since I can't get a real job right now due to caring for my elderly in-laws, I might as well play when I can right? So I'm looking for new homes for some of my Santas that didn't get listed online during the holidays. This Santa is a re-purposed light bulb, hand sculpted with Creative paper clay and hand painted with layers of paints to add depth and shape to his features. Give a little love this Valentines...

What to do with a cute little pocket that had hot cocoa in it I wondered. The plaid pattern was too nice to just toss the pocket away, so I trimmed the top flap off, added all sorts of doo dads and fluff, and whaalaa! a Victorian style Valentine treat pocket for that special someone. This inspired me to create some of my own by hand, and they will be showing up soon. For now, this little goodie pocket can be found at my etsy shop.
