Fall Into the Holidays with Mother's Dream Artworks

A Fall favorite, pumpkins are everywhere these days, even on pillows.
A fun and easy way to add a touch of Autumn in your home decor. Easy to put out, easy to store. See more about this pillow at MothersDreamRtWorks
Buford Jack has a slightly wicked smirk on his face as he plans his Halloween shenanigans. Hand sculpted features on a cured gourd, he's a one of a kind JOL that will be the talk of the home. I hear some of my creations tend to move around on their own, so be aware, he's a sneaky fella. You can purchase him at MothersDreamRtWorks

I am honored to share that I have been invited to be a part of the Eclectic Halloween Artists Guild. This guild is a gathering of the finest of Halloween artists you will find anywhere today. I hope to share with you my new journey into a broader spectrum of folk art. Thank you for your support. As a way of celebrating I'm adding a handful of Halloween folk art to my etsy shop. Here's a couple of the pieces I've added.

Halloween at Christmas? Well, Not By Design...

Ahhhh, those best of intentions to get something done in a timely manner. Life and life and more life gets in the way, which stalls progress, but I'm actually glad. I got to "find" pieces parts for this grumpy fellow that I might not have come across had I tried to get him done quickly. In the process of unpacking boxes from the garage, while shuffling around what was already in cupboards I uncovered just what I needed to create this folk art gourd man in the moon's night cap and collar. He's a commission piece, which I'm always happy to do. I hope your holidays are going well. Happy New Year!

PFATT Marketplace Udate for October

Oh boy am I behind the times here! I've been running hither and yon with Nature Guy, visiting Yellowstone, and now the grandchildren. Between trips I was harvesting grundles of tomatoes and such before the freeze hit. I'm afraid the ones I didn't pick will be toast when we get back, but c'est la vie, what can I do? So somewhere in all this craziness I finished two gourd ornaments and a Tapatio bottle Santa.

Each ornament is created using two tiny gourds, one for the head and one for the body.
My blue Santa is a Tapatio bottle covered in air dry clay. All hand painted and ready for the upcoming festivities. You can find all of these creations at PFATT Marketplace

PFATT Marketplace Udate for May - Halloween Anyone?

 Horatio

Horatio is a dashing fellow, all spiffed up and ready to trick or treat. He doesn’t need a costume as he is already a pumpkin guy, created from two egg shaped gourds. A bit of clay and several layers of paint dressed him up for the big night.

Hagatha

Hagatha has done a bit of traveling lately, all the way from Oregon to Utah and back again for a photo shoot and final fitting. Not necessarily in that order mind you. It takes a bit of magic to create a wicked witch from a cannonball gourd.

Both are
available at PFATT MARKETPLACE

Whoohoo! It's Time to Get Ready For Hallowbaloo!

Come one come all,
We'll have a ball!
Enchanting creations
To delight your imagination!
I received an exciting invitation to debut at Seattle's first Hallowbaloo show this September! Pinch me, I think I'm dreaming! Funny how retiring from working as an art teacher has given me the opportunity to say YES, to participate in a new show. I will be rubbing shoulders with some of the best Halloween folk artists, which is thrilling! More information to come as I gather my wits about me and get down to business.
