I've always been afraid of attempting landscapes, so this is my first one in acrylics. Years ago I attempted a few in watercolor, but at the time I didn't have the eye or confidence to just go for it like I do now. It was a fun venture, but today we are going to try oils. I've never used oil paints. Well okay, we did have paint by number sets when we children, but I'm not sure that counts. This piece is available for purchase.

Apples Anyone?
It always feels so good to be back painting again! I see that this is just a tad washed out, but you get the idea. Iphone and home lighting don't always make for the best photos, but here it is. I started this painting 3-4 years ago, but it sat around here due to not being here full time. Well off Nature Guy goes for a trip to California so I decide to pull out the paints. I stumbled across this while trying to find my easel and a canvas. If you saw the "studio" you would understand why it was such a treasure hunt...lol. We are still trying to get all moved in, but Nature Guy says we have until we die to get it done, so....

PFATT Ornament Swap Treasures
My treasure trove of ornament goodies because I chose to be the Pfatt ornament swap queen this year. Oh! My! Goodness! Such talent we have in this group!
We had eight ladies participate, so they sent their hand crafted ornaments to me, and I got to sort and send them new ornaments from each other. What fun this was! Stephanie Grimmond sent me this swap queen ornament, which is just adorable!
Here's little houses she made, which I just had to have one for myself.
Sylvia Smiser created this darling angel, complete with silvery wings and halo. I didn't want to unwrap until next year so she would stay safe.
Rose Gilpin sent me an extra snowman, just for me! How sweet he is!
Rebecca Campbell Miller created this darling snowbaby, and again, I will unwrap next year, but we were late getting all the ornaments gathered, so next year we all start with new ornies for our trees.
Becky Federico hand sculpted this sassy cat ornament. I'm pleased to say I own one of her pieces now as well. I have to say that picking out 4 for me was soooooo hard as there were so many delightful pieces to choose from. I hope to be able to do this again next year. I'm thinking I need a separate tree just for my PFATT ornaments.

Halloween at Christmas? Well, Not By Design...
Ahhhh, those best of intentions to get something done in a timely manner. Life and life and more life gets in the way, which stalls progress, but I'm actually glad. I got to "find" pieces parts for this grumpy fellow that I might not have come across had I tried to get him done quickly. In the process of unpacking boxes from the garage, while shuffling around what was already in cupboards I uncovered just what I needed to create this folk art gourd man in the moon's night cap and collar. He's a commission piece, which I'm always happy to do. I hope your holidays are going well. Happy New Year!

PFATT Marketplace Offering for December
You would think that little lines would be easy to paint, right? Not so much on a semi-round shape that's not quite equal all the way around. So, after two tries I finally got the look I was going for. Loaded with texture and warmth, this handsome Santa is available at the PFATT Marketplace right now.

Snow, Snow, Snow! PFATT Marketplace Offerings for November
I am hearing Bing Crosby and friends singing, "Snow, snow, snow, snow snow!", from the movie White Christmas as I type. Funny how memories are triggered as we go throughout the day. We definitely got a nice sugar coating of snow yesterday, which adds to the Christmasy mood and feel of things.
I'm not a fan of putting up Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but hey, when selling Christmas creations you have to start early. Okay, I'm a bit behind this year, but family comes first. Now that we are back from roaming the countryside it's time to gear up for the holidays. My two handsome snowmen are bottle gourds with hand sculpted features. See more about them at the PFATT Marketplace.

PFATT Marketplace Udate for October
Oh boy am I behind the times here! I've been running hither and yon with Nature Guy, visiting Yellowstone, and now the grandchildren. Between trips I was harvesting grundles of tomatoes and such before the freeze hit. I'm afraid the ones I didn't pick will be toast when we get back, but c'est la vie, what can I do? So somewhere in all this craziness I finished two gourd ornaments and a Tapatio bottle Santa.
Each ornament is created using two tiny gourds, one for the head and one for the body.
My blue Santa is a Tapatio bottle covered in air dry clay. All hand painted and ready for the upcoming festivities. You can find all of these creations at PFATT Marketplace

Apples and Sunflowers
Two of my favorite things to grow, sunflowers and apples, have appeared in my etsy shop. Pomme is a painting I did back in 2010. Acrylics and textured mixed media fun.
Sunflower Autumn is a soft and lovely abstract that will fill a small space nicely. Framed and ready to hang, this is easy Autumn decorating at it's best. To see more details on these paintings stop by my etsy shop. Thanks for stopping by! MothersDreamRtworks

Getting a Little Silly Around Here.... PFATT Marketplace Update
I can't believe another month has gone by and it's time once again to share my latest PFATT Marketplace offering. We've been in the middle of remodeling and my house is literally upside down, but this week we hope to find normal(whatever that means) in our little home in the mountains. Our new sinks and faucets will be installed, along with a new water heater. I get to put everything away in our new cabinets and am excited to go in search of the perfect tile to do the backsplash around our new countertops.
IN the meantime, you can take a stroll over to see Silly Jack, a hand carved and hand sculpted gourd creation, ready to find a new home. You can find him at PFATT Marketplace Mother's Dream Artworks
Have a happy Monday!

Is It Really Time for the July PFATT Update?
We have been upside down here at the house, with moving in and then having flooring put in. Not the way we planned it, but hey, it is what it is. In the meantime, deadlines come and have been getting by me.
Baby Jack cut a new tooth, and is finally smiling. You don't know what whining is until you have baby JOL fussing at you! He's happy now and looking forward to a new Halloween home, one who will love and cherish him.
Party Arty has been waiting for a while to ramp up the night life. Hoping he can go haunting with you this Halloween. Both Baby and Arty are available at the PFATT Marketplace.
